i just resolved what to me was one of the most unusual problems i've seen
in over 40 yrs...before i give my solution, how would you solve it and what
do you think it was?
	subject is a 1986 5kcdtq, has been sitting unused for 5 years	
	problem- won't start, cranks over fine
	checked fuel...good pressure, pump works quietly
	checked all hoses for vacuum leaks...fixed a couple of them
	checked air intake ..ok
	no spark... sometimes
	checked valve timing and distributor ok
	checked valve timing and distributor again after cranking.....both were
off
	removed valve cover and timing belt cover to verify camshaft position and
to check belt teeth
	all teeth on belt were intact and tension was good
	i reset valve timing and distributor timing with cover off and marked
position of damper, cam 	gear indentation, distributor notch and flywheel
'0' mark
	after extended cranking checked timing and it had changed again..
