Dear Quattro List,
In a dash of impulsiveness, I purchased a very clean 1990 V8Q just over a
month ago after my Porsche was totaled. It's bright red, with a black
interior, and 97K miles. The overall aesthetic is top notch, with fewer of
the minor dings and blemishes that one might expect after 10 years.
Mechanically things are also in good shape (more detail below.) It carries
an after-market extended warranty (transferable) through Sept 2001 (or
another 10K miles) that provides fairly comprehensive coverage.
It was easy to fall in love with this car.
So why was this purchase impulsive? Basically, I lack the time (and
inclination) to do my own work on the vehicle. I already have a couple of
receipts from my mechanic to show that I'm going to be very sorry if I
contract out everything that will come up along the way. I also have a '96
A4 that my wife just turned over for a new Pathfinder. (women and SUV's. I
don't get it.)
I'm only interested in getting out what I have in, so I'll take $7,900.
We're located in Burlington, VT, but I'll e-mail photos and other info to
interested parties. You can also talk directly to my mechanic if you'd like.
CHALLENGE TO ALL: If you can think of a compelling reason (it may take two)
that I should keep the V8 AND the A4 (I don't need the $), please share it!
Thanks,
Joe Perrotto
