A/C and Terrible Odor

The dark, moist interior of the evaporator plenum chamber is an ideal 
atmosphere for the growing of mold.  The very small intersticial spaces of 
the evaporator also tend to retain the moisture removed from the air.  I had 
one that smelled so badly I had the evoporator replaced.

Since then, I never put the car away "wet".  I shut off the A/C and run the 
fan on high about 5 minutes from home to dry out the evaporator.
