I understand what Todd is saying and it makes perfect sense. But....
IMHO I like the challenge.  From a purely money standpoint, there are
less expensive ways to get more power in your Audi, and for that matter
there are less expensive cars to maintain than older Audis.  But I am
willing to pay for the satisfaction of building up my own car.  For me
the enjoyment is not in having 350 hp or whatever, but in getting there.
 I am slowly working on my 5KTQ getting it into almost new shape
mechanically so that I can start spending serious bucks on tweaking it
up.  I am having fun doing it.  Others may not feel the same way of
course and I respect that.

Just throwing out 2 cents that I had laying around....
