greasy nubie

Tune-up time's right around the corner (plugs/wires/cap/rotor). Just cuz.
Misc. qwestions ('87 5kcsq, 156k mi):
1. I usually put contact grease on the wires (both ends), and rotor/cap
contacts. Is this ok? I live on the beach, so corrosion protection is a
priority.
2. A/C occasionally groans a bit when the compressor is on--I'm guessing
it's on its last breaths? It came off a junker about 2 years ago (not
rebuilt, just pulled). Works great, tho.
3. Wrench stumped: squeaky-squeaky noise from brakes, only when wheel is
turned to left (like on the rt. lane of a rounded surface road). Sound goes
away when turning to rt. or applying brakes. I'm stumped only b/c my wrench
was--or he was too lazy/busy to diagnose. (usually good guy, Bob Hoffman in
Hermosa Beach) History: sound began soon after replacing rotors w/Ate
Powerdisks (front only), OE pads were fine, so left those alone. Clues?
as always, t.i.a.
