UK fuel crisis (LAC)

John,

Fuel situation is supposed to be easing now as the fuel stations are being
re-stocked although it will be several days before things are back to normal
(we are told). If your wife's meeting is in London or another major city and
she uses public transport i.e. rail then she is unlikely to have much of a
problem. (Or at least no more than anyone else who uses the service at any
other time!).
If she intends to use a hire car then at the time of writing unleaded fuel
is almost unobtainable out here 80 miles from London and there is precious
little of any other type around.
The hire car companies may however have reserves of their own. It shouldn't
be too much of a problem if she starts out on a full tank but if a round
trip is going to use up more than what's in the tank don't be too surprised
if she can't refill.
Best bet is probably to talk to her UK hosts a little bit nearer the time,
the situation may be clearer then.
HTH
