Xenon charging of incandencent bulbs is the latest in bulb technology. It is NOT the same as Xenon Ion discharge lamps like the ones in high line cars. It IS better than the halogen lamps, as the gas tends to change the color of the light so that it is CLOSER to being white, which works better for our eyes, so the end result is it has the same effective reflective range  as a higher wattage halogen. Hence a 45W Xenon bulb is about as effecive as a 55W Halogen.

I bought Xenon bulbs years and years ago for about 15.00 each.  The DO NOT
look like Xenon at all.  Also brought some back from India where they go for
about 2.00 each.
