Yup, time for the hydraulic shop. Things to tell them: "If youse guyz find
a restrictor inside my old hose, please put it in the new one. The steering
may "moan" slightly if you leave it out. Try to get the length matched
pretty closely. Too short obviously won't work, but too long makes
installation a bitch. Just a tad longer than stock (one tad=1/4" or so) is
OK, but not more."
New crush washers, obviously. Leave the center connection slightly loose
until both ends are on. Makes getting everything aligned MUCH easier.
Here's an interesting trick I saw on the list (whose trick was this? - its
a good one!). Keeping the crush washers on the banjo fitting while you try
to get it started in the rack is tough. Put a rubber band on the banjo
fitting to hold everything in place, then once the banjo is started, cut
off the rubber band - bingo! Gotta try this next time. (Let me know how it
works for you.)
