I've heard of something with initials "CH" being used to describe 
some very small linear unit of measure, but I don't know what the 
"R" would stand for.

The "CH" I'm thinking of is probably a different one, and not quite a 
family list kind of a u/m.  I could imagine HD riders using it tho'.
