I bought a 1983 Audi 100 Avant for GBP1500 about 5 years ago. Over the next
three years I spent another GBP1500 on AT related problems. First it was
the seal between the box and the diff causing diff failure (I think that
took around GBP900 to sort out). Next it was several broken components in
the box itself (another GBP500 or so). I was not impressed. I will NEVER
buy another Audi with that model (010?) AT. The manual gearboxes are SO
reliable.
