type 44 tranny swap. stage 1 contemplation...

Hello all,

    I talked to DAD'S and was surprised that they quoted me 1,000 dollars to
for a transmission and supposedly all the parts needed. not sure if this
included a flywheel . After reading the misshaps of rebuilt trannys and the
performance gain this soulds like the way to go. I just can not see spending
twice as much on the manual, DAD'S quoted me $500 for an automatic.Can the
swap be performed by someone who is not a machinist or an engineer?
