Exact same thing happened to me several months ago,
except I overtightened the cap myself and caused it to
crack in the circular pattern you have.  A revised
part (yellow cap used on many new Audi models - also
saw identical cap on Dodge Dakota pickup with Bosch
anti-lock system!) is readily available from the
dealer (although apparently not yours).  I can get you
the part # if you need it.
