Before you invest too much time and effort rebuilding/expanding the 
IC, think about putting in an auxiliary cooling system for the stock 
unit, i.e. a water spray.  You can dump an enormous amount of heat by 
evaporating water--or better yet standard alcohol based windshield 
washer fluid--than by increasing the size by 2X.  The clever way 
would be to have a switch that activates a water pump when the boost 
goes over some value.  The Audi Pikes Peak Car used standard 
windshield washer jets in front of the IC but I don't know how they 
were activated.  They had a several gallon tank in the trunk to 
supply fluid.
