Tires... since we are on the subject

Depends on where in New England. Real snow or coastal snow? And it depends
on the winter we get. Last year, all the CT locals with their new A4s and
S4s ran out and bought snow tires and 16" wheels (to clear the brakes). We
got squat of a winter. Meanwhile, I took my SP8000s off (they are a summer
tire; don't try them in winter) and put on Michelin XGT H4s. Yeah, a
compromise, but they were FINE in the snow that SW CT received. I even drove
in VT, in a storm, on unplowed highway and was fine.
If you are "in the north" get snows. If you are closer to NYC than VT, the
XGT H4 and Z4 are good tires.
Just my $.02, I don't pretend to be a tire expert and could care less about
the "tradeoffs."
