This problem is quite common for the V8 ... my suspicion is that it is the
"engine speed" sensor mounted on the bellhousing.  In any event, it is very
easy to read the codes out of the ECU ... it will tell you what the problem
it is seeing is.  Check out:

There are a number of sources for V8 parts ... and don't overlook the
discounted prices at dealers like Carlsen.  I find I get most of my parts
from Carlsen ... partly because it is convenient for me, but also because
the prices are competative with the aftermarket vendors in many cases.  You
may want to look into the V8 lists ... there is one on the audifans server,
but it is not very active.  The most active V8 list I'm aware of is the one
run by eliot lim on the U of Washington server.  Here are the quick
