I like the $16 deal better . . .
Removing the rear pass window in an 86 5000 is easy. Remove the plastic
door panel, all phillips screws you can see. Remove the inside door handle
(cover pulls out), and remove the screws under it. Put a flat screwdriver
under the back of the panel, between the panel and the door frame. Pry out
slightly, and there's a whole row of plastic snap fasteners which will pop
out of the lower edge of the door frame.
Now the neat part: remove four 13mm bolts and lift the entire inner door
frame out of the door skin. The window is held to the actuator by a single
"C" clip. Pop off the clip with a screwdriver, and the window is now free.
Slide it down and out of the window frame.
Parts to collect: Plastic snap fasteners, the "C" clip, misc nuts and
bolts, the rubber blocks which hold the window mechanism to the door frame,
and also get the rear door handle - you'll need it someday (it may not fit
your 89 - if it does, take it. If it doesn't you might as well leave it.)
Your car may have the later interior, and I understand that a LONG allen
key is needed to take that apart - there are a few allens hidden deep
inside the armrest, and you can't get it off with regular tools. Other than
that, the procedure is the same. When you remove the four 13mm bolts that
hold the inner door frame on, there will be some spacers - make SURE they
go back in the same places they came from, since if not, your window frame
won't be aligned properly and you'll get wind noise and water leaks.
Total time at the junkyard will be under an hour, down to washing your
hands. Time spent on your car might be two hours, and you KNOW you'll put
it back together carefully and right, lubricating the window mechanism and
cable while you're in there, etc. The parts yard who will install it for
$85 will just slap it together and may tear parts of the interior. Keep
these monkey lads (TM) away from your car!
On a scale of 1-10 for difficulty, this is barely about a 2.5.

Only if you need the long allen key for the newer style arm rests.
