Gawd - two of em! Your lovely wife must indeed love you . . . ! (Say hello
for me.)

The whine (left side) sounds to me like an open filter capacitor in one of
the sub-amplifiers.

For the right side (nobody at all home), what's common on that side?

Possibly an open ground?
