44 turbo EM studs

Hi Group,

I finally removed my OE EM on my 87 5000Q. Three of the studs broke off in
the head. Didn't take ANY torque to do it either ! Must have been held on
litterally by a thread of metal... Also the OE EM that I removed was cracked
at #4 cylinder and also at the Y collector---I didn't even know this until I
got the sucker off!

Question : Anyone know of a good HIGH temp stud kit made of an alloy which
can take the heat abuse ? I was thinking of something like the studs which
attach the turbo itself (and those wonderful but expense 15mm nuts). EM
stud size is 50mm x 8mm x 1.25 thread pitch. If no one knows, I found I
can get 125,000 psi "alloy steel"ones thru McMaster-Carr for 3 to 4 bucks
ea. Before going ahead I thought I see If anyone has any other
suggestions...

Phil Payne is right about the motor mount issue. It was quite cooked.
Change them if you ever get in that far.
