Well, I received 5 responses to my query/quiz on wheel bearing
diagnosis. For those who missed my early posting - I asked about whether
loading a failing wheel bearing increased noise or decreased it, with me
saying the former and a mechanic saying the latter.

One post said categorically that loaded bearing eliminated noise.

One post said it's really difficult to tell, that his sense of left front
turned out to be right front, found with stethoscope.

One post thought my feeling that loaded bearing would create noise was
correct, but difficult to isolate. But felt that since I heard the noise
from right rear that that was probably the one.

One post has same problem as mine, but noise transfer to left when both
wheels are equally loaded, i.e. going straight.

One post felt my analysis was correct vis a vis loaded bearing increasing
noise.

And now the envelope please ----- replacing right rear bearing, in this
case, eliminated the noise; it was the right rear that was done in.

TNX for playing.	- jon
