'95 Sport 90 A/C Woes

This is a fairly common failure on the '93-'95 90's. Unfortunately that is
a reasonable estimate!! I'm not sure what the part would cost but you can
look that up yourself(sounds right for an Audi).
Labor in replacing this is very expensive. I know you have already received
an e-mail telling you this is completely out of whack but it's NOT!! As
Kneale said he owns a 5K and it may be a different set up on these
cars...he's right!! On the '93-'95 Audi's the evaporator is located below
the dash..so this means that to replace the evaporator the entire dash needs
to be removed from the car. I've seen quotes range from between 8 to 11
hours to replace this part. At $800 labor you are in the ballpark!!!
Luckily I haven't had any trouble with this part myself....Knock on wood!
Unfortunately for me, I've had all the others!!
