what makes a 90 a "sport" model

is it just the moniker 90S? or is there an option w/upgraded suspension or 
brakes or wheels or what? I'd prefer to know about the V6 latter 90's as 
opposed to the earlier 5-cylinders...
    One more thing, when did the V6 replace the 5cyl.? was it '92.....
