You say they destroyed the handle. Am I to assume that you can't remove
what's left of it? I mean, usually you have to have the door open to get it
off, but if it's all screwed up already, why no just cut(break) the rest
off, so that you can get into the door, and pull the rods with a needle-nose
pliers? You should be able to access the opening mechanism rod through the
large hole where the rear of the handle attaches. Also, you could try the
coat-hanger trick. Depends upon how far you want to go. I'm sure the
garage will have to do something similar, but charge big $$ for it.

Subject: Can't open door to fix lock! Help
Hi all,
The thief who broke into my car destroyed the front passanger door handle
and lock. So I can't open it from outside. I also can't open the door from
inside. Which means I can't even open the door panel to fix it. Any idea? I
already made an appoinment with a garage for next week. But just in case
any of you smart people have any ideas. Thanks!
Martin
