I can get oversize pistons for the 200 engines from Audi for around
$100 (GBP60 or so) and even less for the WR engine - figure about $60.

Not for the AAN.

I checked with Mahle yesterday - they're exactly the same weight.  The
extra weight contributed by the greater surface area of the crown and the
greater circumference of the skirt is compensated by removing metal
from other areas.  A lot of the key dimensions are also different -
this is not just a diameter issue.

(Perhaps I should have said 'mass' rather than 'weight' - let's keep
 gravity out of this.)
