I have two more questions. I purchased my 1990 V8 Quattro about a
month ago, and it has about 194,000 miles on it. I purchased it for
$4,500, and I'm not sure if I got ripped off. I've been searching for
one for over a year, and it seamed a fair price, even considering the
mileage. Anyway, I just purchased a new RPM sensor, and a new O2
sensor, and I'm putting them in tonight. I was driving home last night,
and instead of just dying out like it normally does, it kinda spit and
sputtered, and I came to a stop, put in in park, and held the petal to
the floor, and it just barely kept running at about 200 RPM. It ended
up dying out, and I got my brother to tow it home, since I was only
about 2 miles from home. Once it cooled off, it ran fine again. Does
this sound like a RPM sensor, or something completely different?
I'm also trying to get new spark plug wires, and my dealer quoted me a
price of $110 for each wire. That's right, $880 for the set. I found a
set through 2 Bennett Audimotive, their the Nology wires for like $365,
are these a good idea to get, and do they add any performance over
stock? I'm also looking for cat's, and their $500 each from dealer, and
$335 each from 2 Bennett. Will it work to get generic cat's of the same
diameter, or will that screw up my back pressure?
Sorry to ramble on, but no one else seems to know. Thanks in advance
for your help.
