'88 5KSQ Brake Master Cylinder Replacement

It's an easy job to replace the m/c, do just like you said and remove just 
the m/c. But you have to reconnect the brake lines and bleed the whole 
system, unless you can prime the m/c w/ brake fluid. But it can get messy 
if you prime the pump. I just replaced and bled the lines. Brakes work 
perfectly. good luck.
