For 2001, the PCR-QCUSA chapter will be holding 2 track events. They are:
APRIL 2-3 -- Virginia International Raceway
OCTOBER 1-2 -- Summit Point Raceway
VIR is a world-class track that was re-opened in March 1999. It's gotten
rave reviews form all the clubs running it. We're using the FULL 3+ mile
track, not just part of it, but ALL of it. We'll be using PCA instructors
and any QCUSA instructor who wants to learn the track, as well as anyone
else who has time on that track.
Summit Point event will utilize both tracks (!) both days. True beginners
(up to 30) will be on the small 1-mile Jefferson Circuit, while all other
students will be on the big track. We have great dealers/sponsors who cover
dinner on both nights AND event t-shirts.
Instructor fees for both events are $50/event! You can't REALLY beat that,
particularly since we're a young chapter (under 4 years old) and we're
holding our own event (no national help).
Costs for the two events aren't set, but figure somewhere between $250-300
for the two days, including pre-event dinner (Sun night), event banquet
(Monday night), event t-shirt and about 4-5 25-minute runs per day.
We will REALLY need people to attend, since we are running this event on our
own (again, no National help) and want to fill it with QCUSA people, rather
than open it up to just anyone in desperation. Check your Fall quattro
quarterly for details or go to the URL below for information!
Feel free to E-mail me with questions at any time!
