After failing the e-test, checked the recommended stuff: plugs, wires, cap,
etc., looked okay. Forgot to mention last post that there was a very slight
off idle stumble, required feathering the throttle. Thought she was running
a tad rich, so I called Schlep Boys - they're close to work. However,
asking how much for a mixture adjustment yields $64.95 for a "diagnosis" of
the fuel injection system. And an additional $33.00 if they have to adjust
it. Riiiiight. Boat payment musta been due.

A quick run over to Autobahn Performance and Martin the mechanic puts it on
the sniffer. "Oh yeah, she's waaay rich," and does his magic on the
mixture. Back over to a different emissions station, she passes with flying
colors, CO down to .48 at idle and .64 on the 2500 rpm test. No more off
idle stumble, either. Happy day indeed, thank you Autobahn.

So if you're going to Road Atlanta this weekend and see a black '87 TQW near
the Audi corral, stop by and say hi.
