1992 - 1995 Audi 500 SEL - Cape Town South Africa

I've always wondered why VW/Audi of ZA would put a Mercedes name on the Audi 100? Can somebody tell me???

A friend of mine owns a 500 SEL; but that is a Mercedes, he's still not decided wether to trade it in for a UrS4 :-(
