Alarm doesn't "beep" when armed

My A6QW has suddenly decided to no longer beep when it arms the
alarm system. The alarm itself works fine; the light inside flashes
and the alarm will sound off if I "break in" to the car. And I am
pretty sure the alarm horn is the same one that beeps on arming.

Bentley says basically nothing about the alarm system, just shows
the fuse, the door switches, and the alarm module.

Any thoughts on diagnosing this one?
