500 miles in a quattro

Fresh back from meeting Todd Phenneger and his friend Angela during their
stop-over at Heathrow. I've put over 500 miles on the car today so I guess
that the engine should be well and truly bedded in now.
Noticed a couple of things though. A strange noise that appears to be coming
from somewhere close to the ecu (by my right knee) - it starts at almost
exactly 100mph and sounds rather like a relay cycling really quickly, abit
like electric contacts arcing.
Second one is rather worrying, about an hour and a half into the journey the
oil light started playing up, not on constantly, just a number of brief
flickers every so often. It was ok above 70mph but when I dropped to 60 it
started again - at 30 it was ok. Once the car had stood for a while
everything was ok again. Then on the trip back same thing happened - similar
distance into the journey and on comes the light. Same pattern as before off
at 70, flickering between 50-60 and off at 30.
The oil pressure sender unit is new (less than 1500 miles) - I suspect that
I've got an intermittent short circuit somewhere.
