Thank you to all who responded. My sister called again last night,
luckily from home in Cambridge. The AAA tow truck that came had a friend
who did long haul towing so he dropped my sister at his station with the
car. Then it was hauled down from NH to her regular shop in Cambridge. It
will get looked at on Wednesday.
She described a little more in detail what happened when the engine
died. She was doing 75mph, rpm's around 4k (she thought that was too high),
then the car started to slow, she turned off all the electricals, she tried
flooring it, started slowing even more, put the car into neutral, idle was
very bad as she coasted, pulled over, popped hood, saw a very small amount
of bluish smoke from the rearward engine compartment, notice nothing else,
turned engine off, and got a ride to a gas station. This morning she
stopped by the shop and left the keys. I told her to check the coolant and
oil levels, coolant looked a tad low, but oil was perfect. I guess we'll
find out in a bit. I am very curious myself, hoping it's not life
threatening, the engine only has 60k miles on it!

Thanks!
