Hi,
For many years now there has been this ad in the back of the CAR
magazine here in South Africa. It is for something called a Stilko
filter. Made from machined aluminium, finned and with replaceable
elements. I've just had a look at the site at
http://www.geocities.com/stilko/ and see that it costs $50 and the
replacement cartridges are $2.50 each. It is a tissue element filter and
they say it filters 1/100 of a micron particles. They mention a by-pass
valve, but not one of those anti-drainback valves.
What are you opinions on this? The Audi filter costs me about $5 and
that basically works out to 10 oil changes before it equates to just the
initial purchase of this thing. Now want to know if anyone has used it,
seen it in use, heard stories and so on.
Thanks.
G.
