anyone have the pleasure of their tachometer intermittently - working fine/ 
working very slowly / not working at all ?

it was woring more often than not, till recently. any idea or common failure 
points? (besides all of the points) more likely the dash end or the big 
metal end?

and none of this "shift by ear" business : )
