When i found out about Aprils' Audi driver issue, I thought it might be
a good time to subscribe to the mag, especially as its not always easy to
get hold of in the shops. So i subscribed via the web.
Imagine how un-delighted I was to find that this doesn't include the
aforementioned 'special' issue. I'm not saying no mention was made of this
on the website, but i certainly don't remember seeing one so it can't have
been made too plain. If i'd spied the little 'offer' box in the March issue
I could have pre-ordered the thing for £4.
I tried ringing local W H Smiths who told me they dont have it on the
shelf and the issue is not yet available but should be from the distributors
in a couple of days. So I've had to phone autometrix who "couldn't" tell me
where I might get a copy so I had to order it specially from them. This is
where the blood pressure really starts to rise. At this point in time and
despite the fact that it is not available to the retailers this issue is
already technically classed as a 'Back Issue' and so the price is £7. The
girl on the phone said she would do me a 'favour' and only charge £5. Gee
whizz.
Although I'm looking forward to the issue , I personaly find it pretty
flaky to take on a subscription and immediately charge more to get the
interesting stuff and even more to start charging back-issues for an item
that hasn't yet reached the retailers.
Grrr..
