badge engineering or the real thing?

Just ran a CarFax on it, and it comes up as an A6 4.2 FWD. Very strange.
Sounds to me like some badge/bumper engineering and maybe some chips for the
added hp. I included the CarFax report below in case anyone wants to have a
look.
