Broken spring - what to do...

I broke a right front spring on my '87 5kcstq the other day. Drove
out of my driveway, and there was a huge bang. Inspection revealed
less than a half turn had broken off the bottom end of the right
front spring. Looking at the broken piece, there's a rust pit where
the failure originated, so that likely was the reason.
Anyhow, my dilemma, Should I just replace the one spring, probably
with a used one, or spring (hah) for a set of lowering springs from
H&R. I've got pretty new Boge Turbo Gas shocks all around, so I think
the dampening should be enough for a slightly stiffer spring. Any
thoughts from those who've done this? Is there a better option that's
in the same price range? Also, how did the 1.5" drop affect
performance in winter weather conditions? I live in Wisconsin, so
this is moderately important.
Also, any idea who has good prices on H&R springs?
