Prep of a used distributor

Hey all,
  I just ordered a used distributor for my 86 5ks and was wondering if
there is any prep work that I should do before installing it (anything to
grease, clean, etc?)

  I also noticed the hold down (plastic attachment) is partially broken
and put in an order for the $2 part (035 905 331b) .. I am assuming the 3
wires just pop in/out of it?
