Part of the reason Audi went up to 2.3 is that the 2.2 KV is not cleaned with a
catalytic converter. When the 2.2 got the cat the hp fell to 120 (virtually
same as in 4k and CGT). When the cat became popular all over Europe around
88/89 Audi bumped the displacement to regain the loss due to the cat.
