Antifreeze/H2O Ratio

Nothing first hand, and haven't had the bother to research it myself, as
none of my applications are that marginal. Emperically, one of my friends
who runs a Formula Ford in SCCA Club racing says it really does make the
difference between running and overheating. His driver (son) says that
there is a noticable difference (no numbers mentioned, but the kid isn't
one for details) in the temp gage running with and without during tire
tests. In principle, it's simply a surfactant (i.e. soap) which breaks up
the water's surface tension, thus allowing better flow and surface
contact. The nature of the beast (small radiators, no fan, motor stressed
fully) for the Formula Ford probably realizes a benefit, for those of us
running stock radiators in street cars (unless running EXTREME boost
(best guess, +2.0 bar or more)) I doubt there is a noticable increase in
cooling performance. May be important if you run a smaller radiator. Also
won't work with the Meca Evans PG coolant, as that coolant is non-polar
and is not supposed to run with any water in it.

Just my $0.02
