well, it's just about impossible to remove/install a complete i5 from
the top, and it's a bigger job and PITA to drop it with the tranny from
the bottom.  Solution?  Cut out center support (the front cross members)
and reinstall with mending plates and bolts.  engine goes in and out
like a breeze.
