Home brew adapted EFI

Michael, since getting a programmable system tuned is tough enough, and even
tuning an EFI system on a car it came with can be even harder, I don't
recommend trying to adapt a non-adjustable system to a car that it was not
intended for. There is much more to tuning an EFI system than playing with
fuel pressure. Granted, you could get lucky, but it will be doubtful you
will ever get it to really run right. Unfortunately Audi did not offer any
EFI applications except for the 20v cars, and those systems are rare and
expensive. For under $1k, however, there are a few choices on the market for
programmable systems.

got to thinking, why not just adapt a factory (Volvo, Saab, whoever) EFI to
my car? All I would have to do, is get the box, hot wire sensor, and
injectors, either from a 6 cylinder or a 4 cylinder and add an extra. It
wouldn't run at the right mix though because its designed for a 4 or 6, but
by using an adjustable fuel pressure regulator, I should be able to get it to
run right where I want it.
