Replacement windshields

Listers,

When I bought my '89 200 TQ it had a new scratch- and 
blemish-free windshield made by Viracon. A year later 
it has lots of pits and a 2 foot (0.7m) long crack 
across the driver's line of sight. Needless to say, 
I'm not impressed. I'm seeking recommendations for a 
replacement windshield. Audi? Safelite? Others?
