272 sport cam and Jamex airbox opinions

I'm not convinced the camshaft by itself will do all that much.
What the cam is (hopefully) doing is asking for more air/fuel mixture to be allowed into the cylinder, but with the low compression of the 2.2 there isn't much that will happen to it once it's in there. Aside from a deliciously lumpy idle,
I think the hp gain vs. dollar spent will not be great.
Most articles I have read about boring out the throttle body show less than 1hp gained in this application, so it's really a waste of effort.
Using the cam wheel with a 'stock' cam may bring about the desired results for far less expense, though I'll admit I've never used one on the I-5.
The standard airbox on the 4k at least is a pretty clever design if you look at it, though the replacing of the filter cartridge is legendary in it's stupidity...
