Hi

Mihnea asked ´bout upgrading I 5:s.

I tried to find those friends, just couldn`t. But if
I remember correctly, they made small intake
timing advance to increase low end torque.
( Also few degs extra ignition advance )
Cam was some 260-270, that means small
overlap and there were no problems with idle.
(If Your lookin´for 200 Hp You need more comp.
and 7krpm with +300 cam etc...)

Portin´and polishin´? No, they took no portwine
with their Polish friends:) Ok, they aligned intake m
to the head and chanced exhaust manifold to
a 5-3-1 one, but nothing serious. Polishin´ of exhaust
is waste of the time.

That 150-160 Hp is possible for 2.3 I5 10v without
problems, but N/A 200 Hp needs so funny degrees
at cam etc... You don´t want to have it.

You also asked ´bout supercharging. There was a
company that announced it in the net. They had a boost
of 0.3 Bar first and 0.4 with water injection. I guess that
means some 30-40 Hp with wery high costs...

Of course You do, what You like, but, in my opinion:
(I´m now driving a +170 N/A 20v quattro and it´s not
so nice, have to make it scream 7k to go).
Mild 150 Hp upgade is a good idea, but if You wanna
go fast, junkyards are full of nice MC:s ;)

happy holidays, gotta go ;)
