new climate controls mystery

Ok.  So now I'm getting air out of my center ducts, but it smells like oil.
And I don't mean a vague whiff.  It smells as if the oil line passes through
the HVAC system.  Any clues?

Second:  Had the alternator replaced, and now the CC and the rear power
windows don't work.  What is going on???  I checked the fuses and can't find
anything out of the ordinary.
