chipped 1.8t and diverter valves

Um- yeah, but it happens in the older cars as well.

Our 1.8T has what seems to be a bad diverter valve, although it
doesn't have the stalling problem that the 20v I-5s seem to exhibit
when the valve leaks. Symptom is boost surging. This happened after
about a year and 18k miles.

i heard from a friend of the vw persuasion that a lot of vw 1.8t
owners who have chipped their car have had to replace the diverter
valve(s) right off the bat, as it cannot handle the increased
	boost.

anyone heard of this, in vw or audi cars with chipped 1.8t engines?
