Buying a car long distance (remotely)

that's a pity, because there was a really good thread on this a while
back.  Wish I could remember the subject line.

Only thing I remember was some good advice - when first going to look at
the car, buy a round trip ticket and be prepared to eat the cost.  Don't
be married to it before even seeing it.
