A day at the dragstrip

Yesterday, a few of us local area owners got together for a fun day at a 
dragstrip northwest of London with a local club. We had two '94 S4's, S6, 
'93 90 CS, '86 4KQ, '84 and '86 CGT and even Muirhead arrived with his 
coupe. Except for Don none of our group had ever done this before so he 
stepped in and showed us how to line up properly and gave us some tips after 
each run. Times weren't even close to Audi's published figures with the 
exception of one chipped S4 with turbo and exhaust upgrades who ran a 12.29 
@ 104.31 mph while the rest of us were in the 15-20 second area. My best 
time in my S4 was 15.63 @ 87.94 mph and Don made only one run at the end in 
an incredible 9.35 @ 148.78 mph. We had a great time although humbling if 
your sitting next to a 500+ hp nitrous powered Mustang. Cost was $70 ea 
(Canadian) for four hours (total of 18 cars with the other club) which 
included emergency services and spraying the track. We all had to sign 
insurance waivers and wear an approved helmet. If you are looking at getting 
a group of Audi owners together for something inexpensive to do I higly 
recommend an outing to a dragstrip.
