The Bomb is ticking?

You must be confusing the hydraulics pump with the hydraulic pressure
accumulator (aka the"bomb"). The latter is a black spherical object
probably located somewhere near the driver side front wheel. The "bomb"
can only make noise if you can hear fluid leaking past its internal
diaphragm or the diaphragm itself stretching or something. It has no
internal moving parts. The pump is what has a belt attached. If it ain't
leaking Pento$in and if you've got power assist to your steering and
braking, the pump is functioning.
