GRRRRRRRRRRRRRR.
We're moving an engine at work, 1.8L VW engine with tranny attached. Four of
us. It tilts, slightly, and my legs from the knees down get any fluids that
were left in the engine...coolant, some oil, tranny fluid, and who knows what
else...Grrr #1.
So, my manager says: "tell you what, go home...change your pants and come back
after your lunch." (who's going to deny two hours off when your pants and
shoes are soaked?)
So I'm driving home, 1/3 of the way there my leg starts to BURN....like "I've
got paint-stripper on my leg" burn. 'What's up with that?' I wonder, but
quickly move into...I'm close to home I think I need to wash this off!...mode.
So, I'm doing like 20-30km/h over the limit. Guess what? Laser Radar.
'Not so bad' I think. I pull over, show the officer my pants and business card,
and explain the situation. He asks me if I need an ambulance or fire to look at
my leg, I explain I'm three blocks away (literally) and "I'll just go home".
He gives me the ticket because 'If I didn't want the ambulance or fire, I
obvioulsy wasn't worried about it enough to require speeding'. I get the
ticket, $100 2 points. Grrr #3.
So, then buddy ahead of me decides he's going to leave (after getting his
ticket). He throws his Honda mini-van into reverse and backs up...BANG...Right
into my Audi!! WTF!!!???
Now. I'm pissed.
I get out, and as calmly as possible (but admittedly still rude) ask, (actually
demand), to have his insurance and contact info. the cop walks over, and tells
me I should just drop it (there is no visible damage, though I'm too upset to
check alignment of bumper). I explain I just want the contact info 'in-case
there's something I can't see'.
"Do you want me to fill out an accident report?"
"No. I just want his contact info" (spoken calmly)
"I need to make an accident report if you wnat to report this accident"
I DON'T WANT to make an accident report, I just want his information (raised
voice slightly, enough to make point)
"If you don't calm down I'll have you towed and you can call someone to pick
you up"
"fine, I'll go home"
Cop then tells honda-van to leave...I get no info.
GRRRRRR #3.
what a pisser of day. Haven't checked the car, still upset.
sigh...vent mode off...thanks.
